Deputy Director General of CAAV, Mr. Đỗ Hồng Cẩm, hosted the delegation, which included representatives from CAAV’s Air Transport, Flight Safety Standards, and Legal and International Cooperation departments.
The Lao Airlines delegation was led by Mr. Viengxay Singkham, the
airline’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by senior
personnel from operations, aircraft maintenance, and Lao Airlines’
representative office in Viet Nam.
Mr. Viengxay Singkham previously
served as Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation of Lao PDR
before assuming his current role at Lao Airlines.
The visit aimed to enhance
cooperation between the carrier and the Vietnamese aeronautical authority, with
a focus on strengthening collaboration and information exchange in aviation
safety, as well as exploring opportunities to expand Lao Airlines' air
transport operations in Viet Nam.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr.
Viengxay emphasized the importance of the longstanding aviation partnership
between Laos and Viet Nam. He noted that Viet Namwas his first destination on
an official overseas trip as CEO—and had also been his first destination during
his tenure as Director General of theDepartment of Civil Aviation of Lao PDR.
In response, CAAV Deputy Director
General Đỗ Hồng Cẩm reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to close cooperation with
Laos, both at the governmental level and between aviation authorities and
industry stakeholders. He cited the recent signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding between the two aeronautical authorities as a clear testament to
their shared goal of strengthening mutual support and cooperation in the field
of civil aviation.
The Lao Airlines delegation expressed appreciation for CAAV’s ongoing support and reaffirmed its intent to further deepen collaboration in the time ahead. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination between their respective departments to explore specific areas of interest and cooperation in civil aviation./.
