Unshaken Top 5 Rankings
The global rankings of the busiest domestic routes for 2024 remain unchanged. Topping the list is South Korea's Jeju International–Seoul Gimpo route with a staggering 14.18 million seats. Japan claims the second and third spots with Sapporo New Chitose–Tokyo Haneda (11.9 million seats) and Fukuoka–Tokyo Haneda (11.3 million seats). In fifth place is Australia’s Melbourne–Sydney route, which recorded 9.2 million seats, trailing just behind Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City.

Hong Kong–Taipei Leads International Routes
On the international front, the Hong Kong–Taipei route emerged as the busiest, with 6.7 million seats—a remarkable 45% year-on-year increase, propelling it from third to first place. Egypt’s Cairo–Jeddah route held onto the second position with 5.46 million seats, followed by Seoul Incheon–Tokyo Narita (5.4 million seats) in third. Kuala Lumpur–Singapore Changi (5.38 million seats) and Seoul Incheon–Osaka Kansai (4.98 million seats) rounded out the top five.
Vietnam’s Aviation Backbone and Economic Connector
The Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route has consistently been a standout in Vietnam’s aviation landscape, making its mark as one of the top 10 busiest domestic routes globally since 2017. With the presence of five airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines), passengers have a wide variety of choices to make to fly with comfort and satisfaction in air services.
