Condolence Letter Regarding the Jeju Air Plane Crash

Upon hearing the news of the Jeju Air plane carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members returning from Thailand that crashed during landing, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam, Đinh Việt Thắng, sent a letter of condolence. Dear Mr. Yoon-sang LEE,


This morning, I was deeply saddened hearing of a fiery aircraft crash in South Korea. A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which destined from Bangkok, Thailand, went off the runway and crashed at Muan International Airport.


The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) and I wish to convey profound condolences to the Korea Office of Civil Aviation, colleagues, as well as the families and friends of those who fall victim to the unfortunate event.


I hope the rescue efforts continuing at the site will save many lives, limiting damages as much as possible.


The CAAV appreciates the support from Korea Office of Civil Aviation over the past time. As a companion, please be known at the moment that our hearts go out to you. 


I wish your esteemed authority and Jeju Air would overcome all difficulties and soon recover from the accident.
