Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, The Honourable Jacinta Allan - Premier of Victoria together with high-level leaders of the two countries congratulated and welcomed Vietjet's new route at the event, which is of great significance to the Vietnam - Australia business community during the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Australia.
The route connecting Vietnam's capital Hanoi with Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria and the largest city in Australia, will be inaugurated on June 3, 2024. There will be two round-trip flights per week with a flight time of about 10 hours. Flights from Hanoi to Melbourne will depart on Mondays and Fridays at 17:10 (local time). Flights from Melbourne to Hanoi will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30 (local time). The new route will provide convenient and easy travel opportunities for the people and tourists between the two cities, two countries, and two continents.
Melbourne is known as the cultural capital of the "Land of Kangaroos" with a population of over 5 million and has been voted among the top livable cities in the world for many years. Meanwhile, Hanoi - "City for Peace" - is well-known for its distinctive urban culture, diverse and rich cuisine with a thousand years of cultural and historical heritage and plays as the economic, cultural, and political center of Vietnam.
Vietjet currently operates multiple flights between Vietnam and Australia with 58 flights per week between Ho Chi Minh City and the five largest cities in the "Land of Kangaroos": Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, using world-class modern aircraft such as A330 and A321. According to the Vietnamese Government Portal, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, and his spouse are paying an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 4th P4G Summit (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) from April 14 to 17.
