On the afternoon of April 15, following bilateral talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali witnessed the signing and exchange of several important cooperation documents between ministries and agencies of both nations, aimed at further strengthening Vietnam–Ethiopia relations.
During the ceremony, Uong Viet Dung, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, officially presented the Letter of Approval to the Chairman of Ethiopian Airlines. The handover took place in the presence of both Prime Ministers.
The approval paves the way for Ethiopian Airlines to launch a direct route connecting the capitals of Hanoi (Vietnam) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
This marks the first official visit to Vietnam by a senior Ethiopian leader since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1976, and the first high-level delegation exchange in seven years./.
