Thứ Năm, 21/03/2024 - 14:48 GMT+7

In the afternoon of March 19, 2024, at the Intercontinental West Lake Hanoi Hotel, a delegation of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam led by Deputy Director General Do Hong Cam attended the Logistics Seminar.

The Logistics Seminar is an event organized by the Government of the Netherlands in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy in Viet Nam, with the participation of state management agencies, enterprises operating in the aviation industry, and relevant individuals and organizations from Viet Nam and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In his opening speech, Netherlands’ Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Mr. Mark Harbers, highlighted the friendly relationship and strong economic cooperation lasting more than 50 years between Viet Nam and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In this regard, the Netherlands is "the largest export destination for Vietnam in Europe and the largest European investor in Vietnam".

Climate change poses many challenges to states, leading to, among other things, "to intensive cooperation", Mr. Mark Harbers emphasized, “on water projects, coastal erosion” and also logistics, and transport. These are the fields Netherlands excel in, and very much wants to share the knowledge with Viet Nam.

Mr. Mark Harbers observed that aviation is a very potential field of cooperation between the two countries. The Netherlands is a country that embraces sustainability with a clear vision of investing into the development of airports, logistics, innovation and much more; giving rise to Amsterdam Schiphol, “one of Europe’s most important airport”, presented with electric taxiing, cleaner fuels and quieter and cleaner aircraft... In that pursuit, the Goverment still takes account of local residents and the impact on the climate.

(Viet Nam’s Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam Do Hong Cam speaking at the breakout on sustainable development in aviation).

In response to the appreciation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in his speech, Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam Do Hong Cam also mentioned the good diplomatic relationship between the two countries, especially through the establishment of "Comprehensive Partnership" in 2019 and the importance of Netherlands’ investment into Viet Nam.

Cooperation in aviation between the Netherlands and Viet Nam alone has been in place for more than 30 years, from the establishment of the air transport agreement between the two countries, bringing about a deal of cooperation programs. The cooperation is not also very meaningful but also offers promising opportunies for the two countries in the field of civil aviation.

Deputy Director General Do Hong Cam strongly believed that the cooperative relationship in the field of civil aviation between the two countries still has a lot of room to "deepen and become more substantive". He also suggested some contents for cooperation in the coming time such as "continue intensive our cooperation with a focus on airport management, environmental protection, personnel training for Viet Nam's aviation industry; Increase the exchange of delegations and experience in state management in the field of aviation safety, security and sustainable development”.

The breakout session was lively with rich, diverse, and profound contributions from the audience, culminating in a great success.
