United Airlines Resumes Flight Service between Ho Chi Minh City and the United States

On October 27, 2025, Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV), Mr. Ho Minh Tan, attended the inaugural ceremony of United Airlines’ new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Los Angeles (LAX) via Hong Kong.

The event was also attended by H.E. Mr. Marc Evans Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam; representatives of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; officials from the Immigration Office, Customs Department, Southern Airport Authority, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Saigon Ground Services (SAGS); and senior executives of United Airlines.

The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute and a flute performance to greet arriving passengers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The operation of United Airlines to resume its flights linking Ho Chi Minh City and the United States not only demonstrates strong confidence in Viet Nam’s aviation market but also contributes to promoting economic, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
